Also, if you’re not sure about the “no-follow” issue, check out the second comment made…

“I can tell you from experience that it helps - and although you are ruling out the blogs that have nofollow on the comments - that more affects PR than anything else. If google finds a link to something that is flagged as “nofollow” - they have been known to still follow it and see what it was. It just means that they are not counting the vote for PR reasons.”

…there’s your answer. “No Follow” will help your rankings and link popularity but it’s not likely to do much for your Page Rank values. This has been shown to me time and time again. Anyone that tells you otherwise isn’t using the technique.

I know a lot of people are busy these days and might not have the time (nor inclination) to use the blog commenting technique. If you’re in that boat, then you should seriously considered outsourcing the task. This could be to an intern, a staff member, or an outsourced worker. You can find many willing people on one of the numerous freelance marketplace websites out there, and pay per blog comment left on unique blogs in your industry.

I can also recommend the Buy Blog Comments service.

The prices are extremely affordable and packages can be purchased in 100, 500, and 1,000 “comment lots”. These are on unique blogs and are written by a real person which is important. As part of your overall link building plan I would highly recommend purchasing 1,000 per month, but if you cannot afford that amount, then even the 500 or 100 packages will go a long way to helping boost your search engine rankings.

Of course, having said that, for the price, you’re only going to receive a certain standard of comment posted, which might or might not be acceptable to the image you’re trying to portray or your individual goals. But everyone needs to make up their own mind about the cost benefit to quality and time ratio.

Well based on the title of this post, and the fact you’ve probably already downloaded the free fully functional version of Comment Sniper (and implemented a strategy to make it a regular marketing technique in your arsenal - you have haven’t you?), you might already know that blog comment posting improves search engine rankings like gangbusters. Even if you have, and for those of you who have not, you might find this case study very interesting indeed.

It highlights just how powerful blog comment posting can be to drive search engine rankings right up there, even in highly competitive markets - in this case study we’re talking “web design” which is hugely competitive.

Just wanted to post a quick update to let you know where we’re with the next release of the software. You’ll notice the new site design has been implemented and personally I think it looks great. At the moment we are just updating the new logos etc into the software itself and testing the auto update feature. So hopefully the next version will be available in a day or so. I apologize I did not get it out last week as promised but it was my birthday on the Thursday so I took it easy for a couple of days.

We have almost finished adding a few new features to Comment Sniper for you. These will be provided to you at no cost if you are a free registered user. Here’s what we have completed so far and what we are just cleaning up before I make it available…

Auto Update - we have added an auto updating feature to the application that will work in the background on your desktop to automatically update Comment Sniper when new features are added. This will eliminate the need to download and reinstall future versions of the application manually, making the update process much more user friendly and convenient. This has been completed although will only take effect after this update.

Loading On Startup - There was a small issue with Comment Sniper not loading (and monitoring) automatically upon computer start up even if this had been defined in the configuration section of the software. I apologize for this but somehow this functionality slipped out when we updated another aspect of the software before release and I simply didn’t notice it. This has already been patched.

Blog Searcher - This is probably the coolest feature that will improve Comment Sniper 10 fold. There will be a new tab that will enable you to search several of the biggest blog networks (and Google directly) for blogs related to keyword terms in your niche industry. It will then gather Link Popularity Data, Alexa Rankings, Page Rank Values, and check to see whether the blogs found are using the no-follow link attribute or not. You can then sort your results by all of these factors (depending on where you want to focus your attention i.e. blogs with a lot of traffic, blogs that do not use the no follow attribute for creating link popularity etc), select the blogs you wish to monitor and Comment Sniper will then attempt to automatically add all of the selected blogs to your Subscribed Blogs list. Very cool. We are just cleaning this up now.

Integrated Affiliate Program - We are giving anyone who wants too, the ability to customize the application with their own affiliate ID’s for our Better Than Backlinks partner program (and another really cool feature). So if anyone wishes to give the application away to their own visitors and newsletter readers as an appreciation gift, then you can also generate revenue by doing so (and encourage repeat visitors back to their own blog regularly). This has been completed and further details will be available shortly.

As always, you can leave your own suggestions for additional features in the user support forum and these will be taken into consideration for future updates. You’ll find the Comment Sniper forum located at the bottom of the various topic specific forums.
